Comic Strip - Date

On the subject of bizarre first dates - I once got asked by a chick to join her for her Sunday mass and then spend the rest of the day together.

I thought it'll just be like a regular Christian mass or something and didn't think more of it.

So I met her on Sunday morning, and she took me to large building, descended 2 flights of stairs, and into a giant televangelist auditorium - complete with overhead screens, professional cameras and a rock band on the side of the stage. In the middle of the stage was a young dude in a smart shirt proclaiming the wonders of God through his microphone.

He was very animated, asking direct questions to members of the audience, and the people responded with equal enthusiasm. I don't even remember what he talked about, but there were a lot of (repeated) invitations for me to join their regular gatherings, help them teach immigrants how to speak English, and that I should purchase their CDs (which contains all their best songs, mine to own for $19.95).

I think that was one of the longest 2-hours I've ever spent in my life.

She asked me afterwards what I thought of it. I remember mumbling something non-specific and made excuse to leave after lunch.
